Letterpress printer Jake means what he says! Tip o’ the hat to you, reader.

Candid Shot

Not really, I think Mike detected me while I tried to be invisible taking people pictures. He is consulting with Harold while Lour runs in front.

Tis the Season for Strawberries

A fresh batch of our Smock cards are gathered (or printed) by Jake.

Say Hello

It’s Lou, Dave, & Bill (from left to right), outstanding letterpress printers working hard to create the finest letterpressed items in the galaxy. Thanks guys!

Our Stronghold

In pre-press, King Tut stands guard over the imagesetters, helping wand off unruly files.

Attaining Age

One of the benefits of being an old-timer here at Boxcar is getting a letterpress named after me. I salute you back, dear Boxcar.

Ladies of Letterpress Conference

My very dear Cathy went to the Ladies of Letterpress Conference recently. (Read the post about her experience here!) She brought back many fine items, it did bring a tear to my eye to see this magnificent array! There are so many talented people out there, such a crowd of kindred souls that love this craft. Keep it up, do more! Next year’s conference will take too long to get here.

Working in Comfort

Here at Boxcar, we believe in comfortable working environments. If you run a press I hope you have an anti-fatigue mat of your own. Cushy flooring really makes a huge difference running a letterpress all day or just for a few hours.

Vandercooking

This is the most glamorous sign I’ve seen in a while! Letterpress printed on the Vandercook press because of it’s large size (11 x 17), great texture is achieved with impression depth and super thick plush paper. Such an elegant way to maintain privacy.
