Ordering letterpress supplies from us: what you might want to know.
Shipping and turnaround
turnaround: Orders ship from our warehouse within 1-2 business days of receiving your order. If you have a tight deadline or urgent need, please indicate that in the order comments so we can try to accommodate your time frame. Orders received on Saturday or Sunday, when we are not open, are considered to be received on Monday.
shipping options: We ship supply orders via UPS. You’ll receive a tracking number from UPS on the day your order ships. Online orders have real-time shipping estimates in your shopping cart and during checkout. Platemakers ship domestically via LTL carrier for a flat rate of $360.
Our international shipping rates, please note, don’t include tariffs, import taxes, or customs fees. Generally, the shipping company collects these fees directly from you when they deliver your package.
Sales tax and payment terms
New York sales tax: charged on all items shipped to a New York address (unless we have a resale certificate on file for you—then we just need to update your online account and you’ll be good to go). New York sales tax varies by county: if we charge you sales tax, we would charge your New York county’s rate.
payment terms: we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. If you’d like to work with us Net 30, please fill out and send in our account application. We begin the review of credit applications immediately, though the process can take a few days depending on how quickly your vendor references respond. If you’re a large institution or company paying by PO, please contact our accounting staff to set up payment terms for your online account.
Guarantees and returns
Supply returns (other than unexposed polymer): we offer a 30-day return policy. Items must be returned in new, unused condition. Please contact us if you need to return an item. We will e-mail you a return authorization number that needs to be included with your package. If returning items, please ensure your items and package securely and protectively.
Unprocessed photopolymer returns: because it’s photo sensitive, unprocessed polymer is neither returnable nor refundable. That said, we offer free troubleshooting if you’re having any problems with your plate processing: just email, call 315-473-0930 ext 112 or 134.
Boxcar Base guarantee: we guarantee that your Boxcar Base will do good things for your printing life. If you’re unhappy for any reason, call us! We’ll guide you through different ways of adjusting your press to receive optimum printing from your plates and base. If our base still can’t make you happy, contact us for a return authorization number, and then return the base to us for a refund. Custom cut bases are non-returnable, ask us about custom cutting.
