Happy October

It’s a beautiful late afternoon in autumn. Say hi to Mary sitting in the front.

Close-up

Hey, look! A cinema shot of a lovely Vandercook gripper. It holds the sheet as the “carriage” (moving cylinder) travels across the bed. Our Vandercook has been mighty busy lately.

Heidelberg Offset

Brian cleans an offset press, showing it who’s da bowss!

In Syracuse

The leaves are just starting to change colors, the air has been a bit nippy. Autumn is creeping in and holiday themes are popping up here and there now. It’s almost undeniable sweater season.

Mesmerizing Letterpress

Gaze deep into the flywheel, you are getting very sleepy. The rhythmic song of the press is lulling you. Bask in the fuzzy goodness of letterpress.

Boxcar Press Mentions

You may have guessed that we really love (letterpress) printing around here. We also love seeing our name in print, so we were honored when the Wall Street Journal contacted us a few months back to talk letterpress.

Felt & Wire also interviewed Harold, one of Boxcar’s owners, about the revival of letterpress — it’s pretty neat, check it out!!

We’re psyched when we see some of our customers in the news, too — in August, Norman’s Printery was featured in a really nice post on the Gutenblog. The post also links to their Flickr photostream, which is pretty incredible…take a look!

Happy Harvest

Today is CSA day, as in Community Supported Agriculture. Every week we get bins full of fresh organic, local produce delivered right to our door. This keeps us strong and healthy to do more printing and for the farms to keep growing delicious crops for the community.
