My very dear Cathy went to the Ladies of Letterpress Conference recently. (Read the post about her experience here!) She brought back many fine items, it did bring a tear to my eye to see this magnificent array! There are so many talented people out there, such a crowd of kindred souls that love this craft. Keep it up, do more! Next year’s conference will take too long to get here.

Working in Comfort
Here at Boxcar, we believe in comfortable working environments. If you run a press I hope you have an anti-fatigue mat of your own. Cushy flooring really makes a huge difference running a letterpress all day or just for a few hours.
Fancy edges
Take a look at one of our newest Smock offerings- fancy diecut shapes with edge painting added on.
Luscious Waves
Jeff is printing these wonderful waves in a dark blue ink on ivory cotton paper.
Vandercooking
This is the most glamorous sign I’ve seen in a while! Letterpress printed on the Vandercook press because of it’s large size (11 x 17), great texture is achieved with impression depth and super thick plush paper. Such an elegant way to maintain privacy.
Happy Happy Joy Joy!
Shannon is wrapping up the last of an invitation suite for Leah and Todd. Letterpress printed in charcoal ink, the Bella Figura design “Deveril” is a classy look to set their wedding. The couple will be receiving the package very shortly!
Hmmm Lollipop
As delicious as it sounds lollipop is only a nickname for the roller gauge. This handy device is placed under inky rollers where the form (or artwork) would be. The round part is exactly type-high (.918) so a narrow stripe of ink will show whether the rollers are set to the correct height. Please do not be tempted to eat this lollipop.
As Far As the Eye Can See…
Majestic, glorious towers of Smock. These items are the “contain multiples” that one may use to have a collection of stylish whatevers. Available through fine shops or Etsy.
So Wonderful
Here is a plate mounted on our Boxcar base. Lou’s letterpress is singing in pool ink today, a lovely deep blue. Hearing the press run never gets old.
A day in our Letterpress Shop: Blooming Flowers
Flowers are blooming all over in the Smock area! Using the pollen pattern gift wrap (which is 2 sided), Jen has made this amazing, huge, beautiful display piece. So many ideas, only 24 hours in a day!
