Pantone is the color standard in the design and printing world. These Pantone guides are essential tools for printers who design, or printers who communicate with designers. But thinking outside the box, we think Pantone guides are useful when trying to choose paint colors for a home or studio. Or bring the guide with you on walks and try to Pantone match your favorite rivers, bridges, trees, and roads. Perfect for hours of enjoyment while on the road or on a rainy day.
about Solid coated and uncoated guides
These are the workhorse of the design world. Formulas for mixing inks are printed alongside color-accurate swatches. If you own the 13 base ink colors, plus trans white, you’ll be able to mix any of the hundreds of colors in this guide.
about the Metallic guide
Formulas for mixing metallic inks are printed alongside color-accurate swatches (shown on coated paper only). Metallic inks add a very subtle shimmer when letterpressed on uncoated paper; metallics shine best on slick coated paper. To create the colors in this guide, you’ll need one of the 13 base colors, plus a base metallic. Or you can special-order any metallic PMS ink from us.
about the Pastel guide
Formulas for mixing pastel inks are printed alongside color-accurate swatches (shown on coated paper only). This guide will allow you to speak the pastel language with designers or other printers. Mixing these inks is extremely challenging though, so we don’t carry the ink components you’ll need to hand-mix pastel PMS colors. Instead, save yourself heartbreak (or inkbreak?) and order any pastel PMS you’d like as a custom pre-mixed ink.
