We printed this broadside in commemoration of Debra Kang Dean's reading in Syracuse. She came to Syracuse in February to read, and the backdrop is based on the actual lunar cycle for that month. Dean has published three collections of poetry: Back to Back (NCWN, 1997), which won the Harperprints Poetry Chapbook Competition, judged by Ruth Stone; News of Home (BOA, 1998), which was co-winner of the New England Poetry Club's Sheila Margaret Motton Award, and Precipitates (BOA, 2003). This broadside is part of the Downtown Writer's Center letterpress broadside series, a fundraising event for this important Syracuse writing institution.
